American Media Services is the premier provider of FM and AM coverage upgrades and move-ins to larger markets. We have completed station upgrade projects for ABC, Beasley, Clear Channel, Cox, Hubbard, Radio One, and many others. We regularly develop and implement coverage improvement plans in radio markets of all sizes.

For those not familiar with the move-in/upgrade process: it is sometimes possible to re-arrange the FM dial in a geographic area to allow a station - or sometimes multiple stations - to increase power and/or move closer to a desirable target market. In some cases, entire station clusters were improved for the client's benefit. This can add enormously to the market value of a station or the competitive position of a cluster.

Such plans involve technical considerations of tower location and FCC interference rules, as well as the legal considerations associated with FCC allocation rules and case law. FAA, local zoning, and historic preservation issues are often encountered and overcome.

Planning and executing upgrades is a job for experts. To read "Anatomy of and AMS Move-in" click here.
