American Media Services Launches Two Internet Radio StationsJanuary 22, 2007
CHARLESTON, SC – January 22, 2007 – Coming quickly after last month’s formation of a new Internet division, American Media Services is announcing today the creation of two streaming radio sites on its website (www.americanmediaservices.com). Both www.beachmusic.net and www.southernfriedrock.com are examples of the high-quality streaming radio sites AMS is creating through its new division, known as AMS-I. The services offered by AMS-I will complement those offered by AMS’s other two divisions, Brokerage and Development. “We are excited to create radio stations of every genre through our new Internet division,” said Edward F. Seeger, president and chief executive officer of AMS. “However, we enthusiastically chose these two formats for our first stations to reflect the culture and heritage of American Media Services’ home in Charleston, South Carolina.” The format of BeachMusic.net is a Rhythm & Blues-based sound from artists such as the Drifters, Platters, Tams, Dominoes, Embers, Catalinas, Temptations, Chairmen of the Board, Four Tops, Archie Bell, Barbara Lewis, and Jerry Butler. The format of SouthernFriedRock.com showcases artists such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers band, ZZ Top and the James Gang. Seeger was quick to point out that the formats on these streaming sites are examples they have developed, and that any station’s format can be streamed. AMS formed the new division in December 2006. “We did a lot of research and found that no one was really helping station owners capitalize on all the Internet-related technologies available,” Seeger added. “Practically everyone at AMS comes from a radio background, either as owners or operators, and we have the engineering expertise to develop outstanding streaming radio sites for our clients.” |
